Agua Bonita
Beyond the Cultural Aisle
Inspired by family traditions, Agua Bonita set out to bring the vibrancy of Hispanic culture. With a fresh take on better-for-you aguas frescas, the brand had its sights set on shaking up the canned beverage category, making a culturally rooted product a household name without losing what made it special.
My role was to help bring that ambition to life. I built a cohesivce visual ecosystem across packaging, digital experiences, and campaigns that celebrated the brand's roots while giving it room to grow. Every touchpoint was an opportunity to tell the Agua Bonita story, connect with new audiences, and make the brnad feel right at home wherever it showed up.
Building a System
Great packaging has to do more than look good. For Agua Bonita, we needed to fit a laundry list of technical details onto every can without losing the personality and storytelling that made the brand special.
The challenge was finding room for everything, from nutritional information and required labeling to the cultural details woven throughout the design. We built a flexible packaging system that balanced both, kept the brand consistent across flavors, and made every bit of space count. All while keeping the type above 6pt.
Every Side Has a Story
Every packaging structure came with its own set of challenges. From retail shelves to D2C shipping boxes, we had to consider how each package would be seen, handled, and experiences. Every panel was an opportunity to bring Agua Bonita's personality to life, without compromising the most important job: protecting what's inside.
Creating a Digital Experience
With Agua Bonita reaching more people online and on retail shelves, we needed a digital experience that could meet customers wherever they discovered us.
The website had to do a lot. It needed to tell our story quickly, bring the brand's visual personality to life, and make shopping feel effortless. From first impression to checkout, every decision was made to keep things simple, speedy, and easy to navigate.

Drink First Product Pages
We took a lifestyle first approach to the website's imagery, playing with color, texture, and personality to make shopping feel unmistakably Agua Bonita, while keeping our culturally inspired packaging front and center.

Social Proof Built-in
We wanted to build credibility from the jump, so we brought press features and our most engaging social content to the homepage. This gave new visitors a chance to see what the buzz was all about, fast.

First Impressions Matter
With so much of our traffic coming from social media, we knew we had to grab attention quickly. We brought movement to the homepage to hook visitors and give them a reason to browse and ultimately purchase.
Good Things Get Noticed
As Agua Bonita grew, so did its visibility. That momentum opened the door to an opportunity tied to Eva Longoria's Flamin Hot, bringing the brand into a much bigger cultural conversation.
For the collaboration proposal, we turned up the heat on Agua Bonita's Watermelon Chile flavor, exploring limited-edition packaging, event collateral, and PR kits that brought the two worlds together.

From Growing Brand to National Shelves
What started as a DTC brand with big ambitions grew into a national presence, reaching more than 2,000 retail doors including Whole Foods, Target, Sprouts, and Costco in just 10 months. As Agua Bonita's first employee, the opportunity was to help build a brand that could grow as quickly as the business.
And the growth didn't stop at retail. By showing up authentically across social, digital, and in-store experiences, we built a 360-degree visual ecosystem that connected with new audiences while staying true to the culture that made Agua Bonita stand out in the first place.
